I always have a knitting project on the go.  It’s like a sickness.

But here’s my secret: I am a truly mediocre knitter.  I can cast-on, knit, purl and cast-off.  That’s it.  I can’t, and have no interest in, doing any more.  (Try and teach me a new stitch and I’ll promptly put my hands over my ears and say, “LA. LA. LA. I CAN’T HEAR YOU.” Yeah, I need to work on my social skills…)

The thought of counting all my stitches and doing fussy fancy needlework holds no interest for me.  I want to zone out while I knit, not work at it.  It’s a stress reliever for me..,

So this, my friends, is an incredibly easy absolute beginner knitting project!

I made these three styles of camp blanket inspired pillows to compliment the knit Hudson’s Bay Blanket pillows I had made for our summer place by the river – which is a mobile home we’re making over to be non-dumpy.  Together on the couch, they look cozy and fun and vintage – which pretty much describes the look I’m going for up there.

Enough chit-chat!  Onto the instructions!  Now, remember, I’m not a fluent knitter, my knitting pattern grammar will be amateurish, but the end result will be super cute.

Right now, where I live it’s -23C.  BEFORE the windchill!  I can’t wait until this weather thaws and we can return to spending warm weekends in our (mobile) home away from home.  For now, knitting is going to have to keep me feeling warm enough.

Are you working on a knitting project?  I’d love to hear about it!

AND if you make one of these pillows, will you come back and let me know?  That would make me positively giddy!

These pillows play very nicely with this Hudson’s Bay Blanket inspired one – also from our Mobile Home Makeover series:

As pretty as this pillow is, it is so much more special since it has memories attached to it. Finding a way to use something like your blanket is much better than letting it sit in a closet or drawer. I think your pillow is a perfect ..
