Without exaggeration, these brownies in a jar are The Best Brownies Ever.
I am a faithful woman. When you know you already have the best, your eye does not stray.
Since first meeting these brownies in a jar, I have never even glanced at another brownie recipe.
Seriously. I have yet to make them for someone who didn’t spontaneously proclaim them this prestigious title.
It sounds like I am yanking your chain, I am not. You are just going to have to make them and taste for yourself.

Here’s the recipe to make just one batch without the jar
As if being the epitome of tastiness wasn’t enough, this recipe is adapted to make a pretty “in the jar” type gift for someone.
It has become our family tradition here to make these Brownies in a Jar at the end of the school year.
The kids get to practice showing gratitude by creating these gifts for the kind people who have made our year great:
- teachers,
- principal,
- babysitters
- and a few other indispensable folks.
This year we made 6 jars (plus one batch sans jar for eating ourselves.)

This is an amazing recipe and a amazing gift. I put them in Christmas gift baskets for my family, they loved them. I think I’ll do the same thing for Valentine’s Day. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
