Apples and cinnamon are a beautiful combination. It’s tough to think of how to improve of such a brilliant pairing. Until caramel pops into your head. Yes! – the one way to make apples and cinnamon even more wonderful is with rich, sweet caramel.
I love make-ahead breakfasts for special mornings or entertaining. Like my Cranberry Apple Cobbler in the Slow Cooker – traditionally that’s what I like to make at Christmas. But this year I may shake things up a bit and make today’s recipe!
This Overnight Caramel Apple French Toast bake can be made the day before and is a brilliant breakfast treat. This recipe is A-MA-ZING! It’s super moist and fluffy and packed with caramel and apple flavour to savour. You can make it two ways:
- completely from scratch, using the recipe here plus this Microwave Caramel Sauce, or
- halfway homemade (in a fraction of the time) using canned apple pie filling and store-bought caramel sauce
Either way is a wonderful breakfast treat to remember!
