Wowser!! This was definately a hit!! Followed the recipe except used thighs instead and it was so amazing!!! Will be in my rotation!! Thanks for sharing!!
Great! Happy it was a hit for you, Juli!
I have made this recipe numerous times and it is a family favorite (even for my toddlers!), but I am wondering how it would taste if I subbed Swerve (or an alt sweetener) for the honey. My MIL is keto and coming tomorrow for dinner so I’m trying to make this but altered for her. Anyway, thanks, for such a wonderful recipe!
I’m so glad your family loves our recipe, Porsche!!! I’m afraid I’m not familiar with swerve – let me know how it works if you end up trying it! 🙂
My whole family (3 generations!) loves your IP Beefaroni recipe, so I decided to make this Teriyaki Chicken recipe tonight. It’s cooking right now…can’t wait! Since we have a number of food allergies, including gluten, I used tamari instead of soy sauce – I hope it’s not too salty. Will be serving over steamed rice, so that should help balance it out. I also look forward to trying out some of your other IP Dump recipes in the future!
Thanks, Sue! Glad your family loves that recipe. Make sure you use low salt soy sauce – people have been missing that and it’s pretty essential. If you don’t have any you can add half regular soy sauce and make up the rest of the volume with water. 🙂
Worked perfectly! And I doubled the recipe and it took the same amount of time to cook. Found it worked better if I pulled out the chicken to shred and thickened the sauce with cornflour mixed with some water then added the chicken back in.
Way too salty! Which is saying a lot for me because i love salt , i would definitely use low sodium soy sauce , i couldn’t even eat it ):
Hi Sierra – the recipe actually calls for low salt soy sauce.
How do you get such a dark sauce? Mine always is light brown?
First instapot recipe, and the flavor seems nice. Haven’t eaten it yet, so we’ll see if it’s a hit.
Hi Julia – Its the soy sauce that gives it such a dark brown colour. Hope you liked it! 🙂
I made this tonight with coconut aminos instead of soy sauce & coconut sugar instead of honey. It was too sweet with my adaptations so I’d probably just do 1/4 cup of coconut sugar in the future. Very yummy & easy! Thanks 🙏
I had never thought to try this recipe with coconut, Sara. 🙂
Great flavor and such an easy meal! However, that much soy sauce makes it waaay too salty! I even used 1/3c instead of 1/2c and it was still so salty my wife wouldn’t eat the leftovers.
I’ll definitely make it again, but I’ll trust my gut this time and adjust the sauce recipe a bit more. I’m thinking halve the soy sauce, and add in more stock and some cooking rice wine.
I wonder if you used garlic salt instead of garlic powder, Chris? Also a low salt soy sauce makes a big difference too. All that said, everyone has a different salt tolerance/preference. Your substitution ideas sound like good ones.
Made this tonight and it was so good! I added green peppers, celery and onion – used on cauliflower rice. Definitely will be making again. Thanks so much for sharing!
Cauliflower rice sounds like a genius idea, Lisa! Thanks for letting us know you liked it! 🙂
I used thighs and it was still delicious. My husband loved it. I didn’t have ginger or chicken stock so used water instead. Game changer for this working mom!!
I’m thrilled it worked out well for you, Mary! Busy lives need easy recipes! 🙂
Just made it! Super easy. Best frozen chicken instapot recipes I’ve made to date. My entire family loved it. I decreased the soy sauce just a bit and used lite soy sauce and it was perfect. Thank you!
I’m so happy you and your family liked it, Brandi!
We had it tonight and also added broccoli. We had it in a bed of rice, delicious!!!
Sounds fabulous, Kyle – so glad you liked it! 🙂
If I double this recipe do I need to adjust the cook time?
You shouldn’t need to change the cook time with a pressure cooker. 🙂
I made this a while back and we loved it! Even my kids (ages 6,5,3) love it. And I’m making it tonight!!
I’m so glad to hear that, Emily! All three love it!?! That’s high praise! Thanks for sharing it with us! 🙂
This recipe looks like a delicious meal and also a great time saver. I'll add it to my favourites!
It is delicious! I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for your comment! 🙂
I made this tonight & served over Noodles. I added cooked broccoli when I served it. My husband & I both really liked it!
So happy to hear that, Ronda! 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to let me know!
