Making a dessert in a pressure cooker sounds like a fun experiment.
Baking in the Instant Pot is pretty much exactly like how I pictured cooking would be like in the future when I was a kid watching the Jetsons. (Except my robot maid would do it for me, but we’re not quite there yet.)
Novelty aside Instant Pot desserts also seem like a great way to bake without heating up the whole kitchen with a hot stove. Great for hot summer weather. You can even use your Instant Pot outside!
If you love baking but maybe don’t have the mouths under your roof to eat a regular-sized cake, this list is also for you. The smaller-sized and scaled-down recipes make Instant Pot cake baking perfect for small households or people on their own. (Ed note: I am available to solo eat regular-sized cakes whenever needed).
Can you use any cake pan in Instant Pot?
Not every pan will fit in the Instant Pot – they require pans that are quite a bit smaller than typical baking pans: usually 7-inch diameter. The best thing to do is to measure the interior of your pressure cooker and find a pan that’s just right for you.
We’ve ordered this pan set to try these cake recipes – it’s a traditional springform pan and bundt pan in one! Less to store, which is huge for us with our small kitchen.
