Tips for Oreo Truffle Success:
- Use softened cream cheese at room temperature. If it is too cold, it won’t mix into the Oreo crumbs.
- If the mixture is too sticky to form a ball freeze for about 15 – 30 minutes
- For the crunchy texture, roll the Oreo balls in crushed Oreos before dipping them in the melted chocolate.
- You can make Oreo balls ahead of time and keep them in the freezer for up to 3 days before dipping them into the chocolate.
- Sprinkle your toppings before the chocolate hardens
- Do not use double-cream Oreos.

Frequently Asked Questions about No Bake Oreo Balls…
Why are my Oreo balls falling apart?
Be sure and use a good binding agent, like the cream cheese in this recipe to help hold the crumbs together.
If cream cheese isn’t your favourite, try substituting butter (not margarine).
While forming them, try spraying your hands with cooking spray too, in order to keep the unformed balls from crumbling on your hands.
What are Oreo balls made of?
Our simple recipe is just Oreos, cream cheese and melted chocolate chips for the coating.
Add sprinkles to decorate or try different flavours of Oreos to give your guests (and you) even more options: Peanut butter, Mint, Strawberry – every time you find an exotic Oreo flavour out there in the world, buy it and try it!
Remember – no double-stuff though – the extra icing messes with the cookie ball ratio.
How long will Oreo balls stay fresh?
Coated in chocolate and sealed in a container, they should be good for a week or even two (but they totally will not last that long without being eaten).
Remember to refrigerate as the binding agent is cream cheese and that is not safe to store at room temperature.
If you make them ahead and freeze them, they will keep longer, but the chocolate sometimes gets that haze. They’ll still taste fine, but lose a bit of visual appeal.

Great recipe! Thank you
You’re so welcome, Eva! 🙂
