We have so many fabulous, budget-friendly DIY projects planned for this coming year! But before we put them out in the world, we thought it would be fun to look back at 2019 and see which of our projects readers like you visited most often!

10. I NEVER thought we’d do this to our main floor! (Luxury Vinyl Plank Pros and Cons)


We’ve lived with this new floor for about 4 months now – and we love it! It created a cohesive look for our entire main floor (except our entry, which is tiled).

Having the same flooring throughout is a great way to make a small space seem bigger.

And getting rid of nasty old carpet, worn-out vinyl sheet and damaged hardwood – is a surefire way to make a space seem 100% classier! 😂

9. 20+ Outdoor DIY Home Projects for a Beautiful Backyard

Outdoor projects are great for new and seasoned DIYers – there are so many great projects on this list – including our deck built-in bench seat and deck extension projects – which we did in 2019.

We keep adding to list when we find something worthy!

I’m thrilled that our plans for our latest basement room renovation spoke to others as well!

We’re excited to get back to it – and share these fabulous projects with you in the coming months.

We built a huge, highly functional media cabinet on a tight budget. Using in-stock kitchen cabinets, 2x4s and some simple custom doors – we created a high-end looking built-in and showed you how to make one too.

4. DIY Hollow Core Door Makeover: Beautiful. Easy. Affordable.


I hadn’t seen a flat door makeover like this one before! It was so cheap and pretty easy – and the end result is perfect for our Media Room.

3. How to Install Tongue and Groove Ceiling Planks – it’s so simple!


We did the project in 2017 – but somehow missed sharing it until this year. This ceiling looks so great – and is so much easier than it looks!

2. How to Build a Faux Fireplace in a Corner (with German Schmear Brick treatment)

I figured out how to make a corner fireplace look good – they can be a bit odd – and we made an all faux built-in look pretty convincing.

1. Make a Hidden TV Cabinet with Mirrors (Inspired by Joanna Gaines & Pottery Barn)

We love this project – and so do so many others! You can save hundreds by building your own hidden TV cabinet.  I can’t get over how affordable the mirrors we used are (you can see the latest price here) – so you can build your own on a super tight budget.
